How many times have you sat around your house wishing you had something to do? Ever thought about going out for a nice little jog? You know its something you should do, but you just aren’t motivated enough to actually go through with it. After all, “Some people are runners, some people aren’t”.
For awhile, these were the thoughts running through my head. It wasn’t that I didn’t enjoy exercise—I just didn’t see the point of running for the fun of it. I would do what was necessary to stay in shape and play the game, but once the season was over, my motivation was gone. I needed a reason to run. Competition is what kept me in shape.
Now that we know the problem, what is the solution? Find something that motivates you and set a goal. For me, it all started with the Nike+ sports kit. This add-on kit for the iPod nano keeps track of all your run/walk data, allows you to set goals for yourself, and compete in online competitions against other runners. The possibilities are endless.
When you set a goal for yourself, Nike+ will push you until you reach it. Nike+ online will layout all of your runs in a graphically enhanced interface.

Allowing you to see your strengths and weaknesses. If you want to add even more motivation to your workout, you can make them public. This will give you the added pressure you may need to accomplish a goal.
Once you get a rhythm going, perhaps you might even try competing against other Nike+ users. Everything is laid out for you. All you need is an iPod nano(4gb or 8gb), the Nike+ sports kit and a pair of running shoes. Don’t like Nike shoes—give lacelids a shot. You won’t regret it.
