Admit it, no one likes paying for music anymore. If theres a way to get it for free, we tend to do it—even when there are consequences. Some might call it a crime, but the Internet just makes it too easy. Plus, you know you won’t get caught…
Well, the fact is, most of the time it is a crime and it is very possible to get caught. So what can you do? If you are in college, then you are in luck. Ruckus is the answer. This service allows anyone with a “.edu” email address to download free legal music. That’s right—FREE music. How is this possible?
Ruckus has developed a close relationship with the music companies—paying for all the music through advertisements. Sounds great, but what is the catch?
Well, as with most things, there is one small catch. All the music that is downloaded is encrypted with special DRM protection that does not allow the music to be copied or played outside of their personal music player. If you want to be able to try music out before you buy it or just want something to listen to while on your computer—then this application is perfect for you. Otherwise, you might just have to wait for something else to come out.
